Internet video keys to success
November 28, 2007
Brightcove recently released a white paper entitle “5 keys to Success with Internet TV” that gives good insight and statistics that can help us all when developing our own strategies. The basis of this paper is describing the 5 pillars for successfully integrating video into your site with practical information and what you need to do to apply them.

This paper describes the differences between the lean-forward user of internet video as opposed to the lean-back viewers of television. This was also discussed at the recent OMMA Video conference when discussing the appropriate length and type of video advertising. A fascinating and informative look at the differences to understand when creating content and your internet experience.

One section of the paper that really drew my attention was the study by Dynamic Logic on what makes a video go viral. Dynamic Logics developed an acronym (LEGS) to serve as a guide to creating viral video. Their findings were enlightening and reassuring as I apply similar guidelines to video projects and sites. This is definitely a must read or at least one that keeps you up to speed on the trends in the internet video realm.
I have also included a video below that was a great discussion about changing 30 second pre-roll ad spot. Worth a listen:
